Qual Review

Qual Review

The Qual page is where scripts and videos get reviewed before moving to production or posting. It has two tabs — Scripts and Videos — each with its own list and side panel. Qual Reviewers, Admins, and Power Users work here; writers can see their scripts' qual status but cannot approve their own work.

Scripts tab

Scripts / Videos tab switch

Toggles between the scripts-in-qual list and the videos-in-qual list. The active tab is stored in the URL.

Client / Writer / Reviewer filters

Filter the scripts list by client, writer, or reviewer (including "Unassigned"). External Client Users are automatically scoped to their assigned clients only.

Open script review panel

Click a script name to open a side panel with the full scene table, the summary qual note, and per-scene qual notes. Non-editing roles see a read-only view.

Inline status dropdown (row)

Set a script's qual status directly from the list row — Approved or I/P (from Needs Review). Server blocks reviewers from approving their own scripts.

✉On Approved: writer gets email + in-app notification; qualApproved email group gets email notification; production cards are auto-created.

Save Changes (panel)

Saves edits to scene cells, per-scene qual notes, and the summary note. The summary note appears as a banner in the script editor for the writer to see.

Approve (panel)

Saves pending edits then approves the script. Same notifications and auto-creation as the inline dropdown.

Backburner (panel)

Saves pending edits then moves the script to Backburner.

✉Writer (if not self) gets email + in-app notification.

Needs Revision (panel)

Saves pending edits then sends the script back to the writer.

✉Writer gets email + in-app notification: "sent back for revision, see the reviewer's notes."

Open in Editor

Closes the panel and opens the script in the full Script Editor. Available when the reviewer has edit access.

Videos tab

Client / Track / Editor filters

Filter the videos list by client, track (Live / AI / Both), or assigned editor.

Open video review panel

Click a video name to open a side panel with the video thumbnail, share link manager, download options, and review actions.

Inline status dropdown (row)

Set a video's status from the row — Approved or Editing (from Qual).

✉On Approved: assigned editor gets in-app + email notification ("Your video has been approved!"); Jessie gets email notification. On Editing: assigned editor gets in-app + email notification (sent back to editing).

Frame.io quick link (row)

Opens the video's legacy Frame.io review link in a new tab. Shown when a Frame link exists on the card.

Video thumbnail → open review player

Click the thumbnail to open the full Video Review page with timecode comments.

Upload video

Power UserShoot LeadAdminEditor

Upload a video file for a production record that has no video yet. Available to Admin, Power User, Shoot Lead, Editor.

Share Link manager

Create and manage public share links for the video asset directly from the Qual panel.

Download Video

Downloads the original video file via a signed URL.

Download as Zip

Generates and downloads a zip of the video asset via a background job. Polls until complete.

Delete / Archive video

Power UserShoot LeadAdminOwner

Hard-deletes the video if it has no comments; archives it (preserving comments) if it does. Available to Admin, Power User, Shoot Lead, or the uploader.

Approve (panel)

Approves the video from Qual.

✉Assigned editor gets in-app + email notification; Jessie gets email notification.

Back to Editing (panel)

Sends the video back to the editor from Qual.

✉Assigned editor gets in-app + email notification.

View archived versions

Opens the most recent archived version of the video in the review player. Shown when archived versions exist.
